Together, we collected $8,902.39 which has provided 1,124 cases (26,976 bottles) of water for Jackson residents.

On August 30, 2020, the city of Jackson, Mississippi, was put under a State of Emergency as the city's water system failed. The city's 150,000 residents, and 30,000 residents in surrounding communities, had little to no access to clean, safe water.

We partnered with you, MSM Distribution, LLC (distributors of Eleven86 Real Artesian Water) and 99 Jams WJMI (Mississippi's top station for Hip-Hop and R&B) to provide Jackson residents with the water they need.

Why We
Care

According to the latest U.S. Census data, Jackson's population is more than 80% Black or African American. It is very important to us, and aligned to our mission of elevating Blackness, to support, empower, and protect our community.

Further, everyone on the Sipping Black Only team has a direct tie to Mississippi. Both Demetra and Julian attended Thee Jackson State University, and Brandi spent many a summer and holiday just 100 miles north in Greenville, Mississippi, with her family.
Intentionally elevating Blackness one cork, one pour, and one sip at a time.
