“We’re sipping Black-owned beverage brands only. It is a movement driving behavioral transition -- to intentionally support Black-owned businesses. I want to change the mindset of consumers and challenge what’s considered conventional. Normalize Black-owned brands. We are the mainstream.”

Persistence Despite Disparity
Black citizens comprise approximately 14% of the U.S. population, but make up just 2% of the country’s 5.7M businesses. There's a clear disparity.
The food and beverage industry is a $506B market and is expected to hit $857B by 2025. However, the number of Black-owned brands tapping into a significant amount of the revenue flowing through this industry is nominal. |
Shop with Intention
The number of Black-owned beverages available at your local retailer, bar, and restaurant has grown dramatically since 2020. There is clear consumer demand and desire to shop Black brands. But there is still work to do.
Intentionally purchasing Black-owned brands is key to driving growth for them. Take The #SipBlack Challenge and pledge to be an active part of that growth. |
